Questions About Financial District Apartments
Where are the Financial District apartments?
NYCIntern’s Financial District apartments are in four different buildings. Wall and Hanover are located near Wall and Water Street, just blocks away from the New York Stock Exchange. West and Washington are steps away from Battery Park, overlooking the Hudson River. These luxury apartments include full-time security and concierge services, on-site laundry facilities, and dry cleaning services.
What is the difference between the triple studio, quad studio, and quad one bedroom?
The terms “triple” and “quad” designate how many residents are in the apartment. A triple has three residents to the apartment, and a quad has four. The quad studio is one entire room where all four residents reside. This includes the living/sleeping area and the kitchen. The quad one bedroom has a separate room where all four beds and some closet space are.
What amenities come with an apartment?
The apartments have hardwood floors, private bathrooms, full kitchens, air conditioning, high-speed Internet access, and 24-hour security. Televisions are not provided by NYCIntern.
Where is a good place to find groceries nearby?
Key Foods and Gristedes are all within walking distance of the apartments. Trader Joe’s is accessible by subway near Borough Hall or at Union Square.
Questions About Travel
Which airport should I fly into?
LaGuardia (LGA) and John F. Kennedy (JFK) are the closest airports and offer easy access to Manhattan. Newark (EWR) is also very close and can be a good option.
Should I take a cab or a subway from the airport?
Taxis can cost anywhere from $30 to $65, depending on which airport you fly in to. Travel time will be approximately 30-45 minutes, traffic conditions permitting. If you have a lot of luggage, a cab will definitely be the way to go. Subway and bus travel are significantly cheaper, but it will also take longer and, most of the time, involve transfer fees. Shuttle services (i.e. Airlink or Super Shuttle) are available as well.
Can I take Amtrak?
If you are coming from the D.C. or Boston area, Amtrak is a great option. The red line, accessible at Penn Station, will take you on the most direct route to the Brooklyn Heights Residence and will take you to a few blocks from the Financial District locations if you get off at the Wall Street stop. Additionally, there are buses that offer convenient services from D.C., Baltimore, Boston, and Philadelphia.
