Erik Matson has worked at King’s as an online course lecturer in economics since the fall of 2017. He currently has a full-time appointment as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Economics at New York University.

Erik’s scholarship focuses on the history and philosophy of political economy, with an emphasis on the ideas of David Hume and Adam Smith. Some of his recent articles have been published in the History of European Ideas, Erasmus Journal for Philosophy and Economics, The Journal of Scottish Philosophy, and the Adam Smith Review.

Before moving to New York, Erik lived and worked in Fairfax, VA where he completed his PhD in economics at George Mason University.
